Ranitomeya uakarii have have only been legally available recently through Understory Enterprises, although in the past the pressure on wild populations due to smuggling is estimated to have been low. This tank has been set up about three years now, and is home to 12 R. biolat. It measures 24x18x26. The background is cork and the substrate is 100% red infield clay. It has been more difficult recently to find egg clutches due to all the plant growth but there are a few puddles where the biolat regularly put tadpoles. These frogs just came in today from Understory Enterprises, and look wonderful! They are bigger and yellower than I thought, with those amazing yellow bellies 🙂 They are bold so far, with 3 out of 4 spending most of the day out on the exposed cork background.
