This lovely little fern is one of the easiest and fastest terrarium suitable ferns. Its fronds only grow to about 1/2 inch, and it is tolerant of a wide range of conditions. It does best mounted but will also grow terrestrially in sphagnum moss. Given time, it will make a dense mat. It is from the Carribean.
This is a classic terrarium fern, that has been in cultivation for a long time. It is remarkably fast growing for such a small fern, and will form dense carpets if given the chance. This stream is on the Western side of Cusuco Park, much further from a town than other areas. It is a long bus ride from the other side of the park to here, and a long hike to a camp site. This stream was one of the most interesting areas for plants, and there were countless Begonias and Ferns which I regret not photographing.
