This small growing species is from Mexico and only grows to about 6″ in diameter. It is a rhizomatous species that enjoys cooler temperatures and is an easy keeper. Leaf undersides are light red, and flowers are pale pink. It is a very compact plant, sometimes called Pennywort or Pond Lily Begonia.
This trailing Gesneriad makes an excellent house plant as well as vivarium plant, and blooms often. The flowers and white with tattered edges. Is a very easy species that can grow as a foreground plant or in a hanging basket, where it will grow long pendant vines. It is found in Mexico, Costa Rica, Brazil, and Peru.
