Microchilus aff. hirtellus
$38
This plant was received from an Ecuador import ages ago and resembles M. hirtellus (thanks, Marc!) and M. erythrodoides. It is actually difficult to kill! tolerant of both too much moisture and not enough, and it blooms readily. A slow ambler on the ground, it will usually flop over before reaching heights more than about 8″, at which time it becomes prostrate again. I don’t grow a lot of orchids and this one has survived the test of time despite my neglect- highly recommended species for non-orchid growers!
Available plants are well rooted in 4″ pots. Not grown from TC. The last image is representative of the size plants available.
