Malaxis commelinifolia

$32

One of the more common species seen from this less commonly encountered genus, Malaxis commelinifolia is a variable species that usually takes on a strong purple/maroon sun-stressed look (even in low light).  It flowers readily and produces an abundance of yellow-maroon flowers on a tall (for its size) maroon spike.  Easy grower, but very slow in my experience.  Tends to trail rather than grow upward.  The plants pictured are about a year old and no taller than 3 or so inches. This species is found in Western Java and Borneo.

Available plants are well rooted and growing in 2″ pots.  They will be shipped potted.  The last photo is representative of the plants available.
