Native to the Peruvian and Ecuadorian Amazon, G. rhizanthus is often found along streams and other wet areas.  The thick waxy leaves make good sleeping places for treefrogs or larger Dendrobatids.  Like many Commelinaceae, it is tolerant of seasonal flooding, and does well in paludarium conditions as well.  This species can be grown as a houseplant or terrarium plant.

Available plants are well rooted in 4″ pots.  They will be shipped potted.  The last photo is representative of the size plant you will receive.
