Centropogon sp.

$46

An uncommonly seen genera of plant, this one came from Ecuador but might also occur elsewhere (?).  It is covered in hairs and has the most incredible coral-colored blooms- they look like they would be a hummingbird magnet, with their long tubular shape.  The genus Centropogon occurs throughout Central and South America, mostly on the western coast, but also along the Brazilian coast and mainland, and sporadically through out Guyana, Suriname and Venezuela.  I’m finding the most southern reach of this genus to be in Bolovia on the west side and San Paulo on the east side.  It belongs to the Bellflower family,  Campanulaceae.

Available plants well rooted in 2″ pots.  The last picture is representative of the size plants available.
