This holy grail Begonia has only recently become broadly available.  It is a shrub like Begonia with magenta edges and a metallic purple leaf center.  The leaves are rather thin and don’t take well to drying out, but so far it has not been difficult to propagate or grow.  It is native to New Guinea where it grows in shaded areas close to water.

New growth is a bright green with distinctive pale pink edges, and as the plant matures it gets more magenta, and the leaf centers turn from green to purple-magenta.

Plants available are well rooted and growing in 2.5″ pots.  They will be shipped bare root.
