I wish I had a locality for this, but the seed I obtained was supposed to be something entirely different and I’m unsure where this one came from. Somewhere in Asia. Whatever it is, it’s gorgeous, and was a ‘good surprise.’ From the one batch of seed I received, two plants emerged.  One purple and one green.  These plants are all vegetatively propagated from a single purple plant.  I’ve had this species for about two years now and the largest the original plants have gotten is about 5″ tall.  Leaves are 1-1.5 inches and this species produces long lasting blooms throughout the year. It’s got a *very* compact creeping growth habit and isn’t particularly fast growing, although it hasn’t shown signs of being prone to melt. The leaves are a similar texture to baik, but more fine.
