Native to Halmhera, Indonesia, this is a strikingly patterned Begonia with enormous female flowers for its leaf size. An absolutely stunning species.

It’s an incredibly varied species, with multiple color forms often being expressed in a single seed collection. This listing is for one of (at least) five ‘types’- the solid dark form.  The other forms include the nominal or most typically seen form that is mottled and a mix of colors, a dark mottled form, a green mottled form, and a solid green form.

Available plants are well rooted in 2″ pots.  They will be shipped potted.  The last photo is representative of the size plant you will receive.

*The flower pictured is from the standard form, not the one in this listing. The flower structures should all be very similar with in the various aketajawensis types*
