This spectacular Gesneriad is from South America and is a great terrarium Gesneriad for its compact size and slow growth habit. I have struggled to get this plant established for years, only recently having some success with clay substrate. It is common for the lower leaves to rot out if not kept in ideal growing conditions (which seem a bit hard to pinpoint). It likes high humidity and good drainage and when it’s happy, is not difficult to flower. The flower is small and white, and each rosette will only put out a few flowers at a time.
