White Spots In A Terrarium

This photograph brought to mind the fantastic white spotted Gobenia type of Begonia coming out of Ecuador now, which I personally love, and my reaction upon seeing them the first time was bordering on comical. As a whole, my appreciation for Gobenias as a ground cover or engulfing a branch has always been high. I wondered though, if the spotted forms would grab too much attention as a large specimen in the terrarium.

Going back to the photograph, here is where my conundrum appeared.  Even though the spotted Gobenia was not a large specimen and it was not the first specimen I saw in situ, it gave me tunnel vision.  The absolutely wonderful Philodendron with it’s very smooth almost velvety dark green leaves was invisible!  Only after looking at this photograph on my computer did it reappear.  In the photo with the view defined, they are quite complimentary.
