Here is a family of plants that surely have a good number of interesting species that would be ideal for the terrarium. Unfortunately, so few appropriate ones (especially if you are trying to make a biotope type terrarium) are available. Here is a beautiful one from Peru that grows to be about 6″ tall. The undulating leaves and the striped pattern combine so well and would make an eye-catching addition. Grown in higher light, the green gets replaced by a very nice pink.
