Epipedobates anthonyi ‘santa isabel’

This habitat was right off a big road going through Santa Isabel, and we could hear the calling as we drove past.  Chickens and dogs were all over, and we wondered if the chickens were eating the frogs.   A small seepage area trickled through here, and some dense shrubs and scrub trees made up most of the plantlife.  The ground was somewhat sandy, and on the side of a hill.

Here is the exact same location circa 1994, somehow miraculously able to sustain these frogs.
