A small very infrequently encountered species of african darter tetra from Gabon. This is a male that was collected in the shallow faster moving water of the River Menguengue near the town of Ndjole. A small interesting river that the local used to wash their clothes. Here we also found a beautiful yellow Plataplochilus sp., Parananochromis brevirostris, Synodontis cf batesii, and Enneacampus kaupi. On the banks of the river were many plants of the rare Anubias pynaertii. It was very interesting to see the range of leaf shapes in this location.
