Peperomia pinoi

by Chuck Nishihira

What a wonderful species from the department of Huanuco, Peru.  The photos don’t capture how dainty this species is with most plants standing about 3″ tall.  Occurring in humid areas near streams at about 600 meters in elevation.  The nice wine purple tones really help to make this one distinctive.  Of course on top of that interesting growing habit.  Hopefully, this one makes it into cultivation one day.
